Dispatches and Directions is a publication and platform that spotlights a number of the artists-run collaborations have been active in Los Angeles during the time ART2102 was in operation. It includes a directory of over 60 artist-run and non profit organisations.
From 3 symposia organised in 2008-09 by Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art, comes this publication summarising the activites from all the events. I like that it says: "If a book cannot capture the atmosphere of lively excitement of 35 international critics, 48 curators and 57 artists, not to mention the 500+ visitors who attended each symposium, it can highlight the individual tone and spirit of many discussions that remain, by necessity, unfinished".
